Dixie Amateur
Radio Club Members:
I have had
to eat crow
and reschedule again
the date of the Dixie Amateur Radio Club meeting for April back
to the original scheduled date of WEDNESDAY APRIL 20th at
7:00 P.M.
The location, however, has been
moved to Henry Schulzke’s
(KB7MWR)
homeowner’s Club House which is located at 1331 N. Dixie Downs Road
in St. George. This is the exact same
location as where the Christmas Banquet was held this past December.
Those unfamiliar with that
location can follow the link below for a Google Map of the location
which also allows you to enter your starting location for door to door
driving directions. In the small “pop up balloon” that is pointing at
Henry’s Club House address location you simply click on the “From here”
link. Then type in your starting address in box and click on the “Get
Directions” button. You only need your street address and zip code- you
don’t need to enter a city or state (i.e. 175 E. Tabernacle 84770 or 700 S River Road
84770). You can zoom in or out using the slide bar at the left of the
map. You can move around the map base by holding the left mouse button
down and dragging the map. It’s pretty cool! Here’s
the link:

The topic of this month’s DARC meeting will
be a primer on what M.A.R.S. is and what it does. No,
I am not talking about the red planet we have been driving around and
leaving tracks on, but the Military Affiliate Radio System. Dan Hale
has consented to arrange the State M.A.R.S. folks to come and present a
session on M.A.R.S. for our enlightenment. This
should be a good educational experience for most of us. I know my
knowledge of M.A.R.S. is VERY limited.
I look forward to seeing you at the meeting
and again I apologize for any inconveniences these “switcharoos” have
caused. A permanent solution is being looked at to alleviate scheduling
conflicts in the future.
73,
Gary Zabriskie, N7ARE
P.S. The VEC Tests will take place as
scheduled at the FCAOG office bldg at 6:00 PM, the same night, prior to
the club meeting at Henry’s club house.
